Another cat I had lost part of his tail and half of his
tongue to a raccoon so be very careful as they are
very dangerous. We have raccoons, skunks and coyotes
by our house and have to always watch Denver.
It is another reason none of my cats are outdoor cats.
Lots of neighbours have lost their little dogs and cats to coyotes

my next door neighbor just made their cat "mookie" a indoor cat as he had 2 fights last week that we heard late at night
and the
result: he has 2 abcesses both resting on his spinal coar, stiches down half his back, on antibiotics and a 50/50 chance for pulling through. TO make matters worse, my neighbors are leaving for Germany later this week to visit family and i am taking care of Mookie with a signed medical note just in case. I am going to be saying lots of prayers while laying on TLC as Mookie is good w/me most times. Sat they couldn't get mookie to bring him to vets, i walked over and he let me get him in a special box and off they went to vets. i was shocked he didn't let me have it

So for me, i'd freak about petsmart but have to respect the way they handled it.

Thank you all so much for the kind comments and get well wishes for Ari! He is doing really well and his wounds are healing nicely. (He doesn't like having to take his antibiotics) but that's nothing...lol. As soon as he's all healed up, we'll be taking him back to Doggy Day Camp at Petsmart.

Since the attack - Ari has been introduced to two dogs and he has been perfectly fine - playful and submissive as usual. I figured he would be okay though - there's not too much that he's afraid of.

lindamarie - I believe they brought Ari to a veterinary place called "Dwarkis" (sp?) and I know it was on 10 mile rd. but not sure what the other crossroad was. They treated him well though. Thanks for the link to Pet Ritz America! It looks AMAZING!!! I actually live in Lincoln Park and I work near the PetSmart in Southfield. I brought him there on Saturday to see how he would do, that way I could bring him a few days a week to burn off some energy. However Pet Ritz America isn't too far from my work either so this may be an option for me as well!

Thanks again for all of the comments and get well wishes! Ari sends kisses to all the doodles who thought of him!

Ari, I hope you heal quickly! Don't lick your wounds or your mom might put one of those lampshade thingies or inflated neck rings on you. After I got bit at the dog park, my mom put the neck ring on. I didn't like it and was eventually able to deflate it by biting it. Woofs and kisses, your pal Cali

Those raccoons are nasty. Our neighbor in CA almost lost their cat to a fight with a raccoon. It got torn up pretty badly. Of course there's always rabies to worry about. Careful where you potty Max!!!!!!
