Default Assume the position

I think that everyone that has ever had a dog will recognize this scenario: You decide to get something to eat your 4 legged friend hears the rustling of a bag or the refrigerator opening. They come running and assume the position, they get as close as they can get to you, head goes down to scan the floor to wait patiently for anything at all to hit the floor, a crumb, a piece of bread and if I'm lucky my human will look away and it will ALL be MINE!

Well, Toby put a new spin on this over the weekend. I was folding clothes, using the dining room table as my staging area. Next thing I knew Toby had pushed his way in between me and the table head down, waiting patiently for a sock, underwear or anything †hat might fall unnoticed! When that didn't work I watched him lean in and grab a sock off the table and try to run. BUSTED no sock for Toby! I had to laugh, food, laundry doesn't matter, it all tastes good to him!

Cali is on a roll this week. While she hasn't tried socks yet, she chewed up a piece of corrugated irrigation piping and spent two days throwing up pieces of that. Tonight she chewed up a pencil. Of course I found all the bits except the metal part that holds the eraser! After dinner she would have had 'possum if she could have jumped high enough to get it off the fence! Is 15 months part of a new stage? Or since she didn't do these things as a younger puppy she's deciding to no miss out ant try them now. Good thing she has a check up scheduled at the vet's tomorrow.

White, white and white. We didn't learn and did not move them until after the 3rd stolen sock! So Toby 3 and Lani 0, she isn't tall enough to steal off the table! Thank God for SMALL favors!

Funny story about Fozzie and Phantom and socks.

Fozzie is always the one wanting to steal socks. Phantom catches him with the sock in his mouth, takes it away and brings it to me. He constantly does this and it is like, here mom, look what the little brat took this time. I swear Phantom is the daddy in the bunch!! He is the oldest, I guess.

Fozzie will be two this week.
