The barn doggie always gets the last word!

We have a large barn about a hundred yards from our house. In some kinds of weather every sound coming from the house is followed by a perfect echo. When George and Grace bark, the barn barks back. We call it the "barn doggie." By barking at him, Grace has made sure that the barn doggie keeps his distance, but it really bugs her when she can't get the last word in!

My husband just called to tell me when the Civil Defense sirens went off for testing (10:00 on the first Tuesday of every month), Chester started howling back at them. When they stopped he started howling again as if he wanted them to respond.
