Default soft crates

Does anybody use soft crates? For Dakota's agility--which starts tonight --I have to take a crate to and from training. Sheesh! His hard crate is logistically unfriendly: heavy, clumsy, no handle, no wheels! So I decided to get a soft portable crate. Because they are so pricey at stores like Petsmart, I ordered Dakota's online. I was very skeptical, not having actually seen it. It finally arrived yesterday--not a moment to soon!

The review is "5 stars" from me! I'm delighted with the crate! It is well built and sturdy. It as lots of openings, windows, etc., is easy to collapse and set-up. It actually has more floor space than his hard crate has although it is a bit shorter. And most importantly, Dakota seems to like it just fine! Here he is giving it a try. He looks scruffy and tired because he just finished a big romp in the pool and another big "fetch" romp to dry him off!

Dakota is a doll!
The crate looks like a very good one! The only thing I didn't like about soft crates is that they get so dusty if they are set up for long...so just cover it or put it in a bag when not in use and you will love it!

Dear Dakota,

Lots of GOOD LUCK on your agility training. FoodLady hopes your Mom tells everybody all about it.

Will you be running and jumping and stuff? I can do sommersaults! Not on purpose, it usually happens when I'm running too fast and I trip!

I hope you have lots of fun and get straight "A's". All your doodle friends are rooting for you! GO DAKOTA!!!!!!!

Woofs and Licks,
Ebbe

awww he is so cute!!

my mom uses a soft crate originally for her motorhome then one at home! she loves it, molly loves it and its so affordable. now I have to tell you when molly was about a year she learned to LICK the zipper open and would be curled up beside my parents bed when they woke up in the morning. She earned an open door all night for that trick!

Diane
Dakota is gorgeous in or out of a crate.
Denver has a wire crate, he only uses it when he
wants as I no longer crate him when we are not home.

Yup! The folks that designed this crate heard that story so they installed a "zipper lock"!!

And Sue, Dakota also is never crated when we are gone. He just curls up in his favorite spot on the couch and waits until we get home. Sooo, re-learning this crate thing is also a surprise for him!

We use a soft crate in CT. for Raleigh that kinda looks like a tent...much,much more room than the traditional crates...he can lie on his side and spread those long legs of his, which he can't do in those large plastic and wire crates...we have one of those here in NH, and I don't like it...as large as it is, I feel he's too confined...he has never tried to break out of the soft one, so I'll stick with it...in fact I think I'm going to buy another one for NH....best of luck with the agility classes!

Diane......Dakota's new crate is great and a zipper lock---neat!!

I just saw those soft crates the other day online ...didn't know much about them. Thanks all for sharing info on them ...i was wondering how stury or safe they were.
