Default Our doodle the funny bugger

Hi guys

we have a 20 month old australia labdradoodle that is a joy and complete nut job most of the times.

Out little guy loves walks and will go 20 times a day if possible, all i have too say is Cody do you want too go for a walk' and bang he is jumping all around the place going bonkers.

We had friends stay for the weekend about 3 months ago and i thought i would be smart in front of them and say too Cody "do you want too?" and the little goofball picked up on it and started bouncing around the house ready for a walk.

People i am hear to tell you people DO NOT try this at home as it has backfired badly.

It has got too a stage now that my wife and myself cannot use the word want at all around Cody or he will be bouncing around the house.

I think he associates the work Want with walk now, do you know how hard it is not saying want around the house

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about!! Juneau (my labradoodle) doesn't do this, but my other dog (german sheppard X) used to all the time! It also got so bad that we had to start watching what we were saying. To start to train him out of it, we started asking him, "Do you want...dinner?" when it was time to eat or when he had to go outside we would say "Do you want...to go out?" We started to add "Do you want..." infront of all questions asked of him just to desensitize him. It ended up working after about 2 or 3 weeks, but he never did get over the word walk. If I was trying to ask my husband is he was ready to go for a walk I would just say "W" because if he had said no, Bear would have been bouncing around until we did go.

I wish you luck with the word WANT!!
