Default Birthday Parties!

In two weeks time, Juneau will be turning 1 - oh how they grow up so fast!

I am just wondering if anyone did anything special for their pups on their first birthday?

Just so happens that Rusty's birthday is in December, during the middle of our waterfowl season here. And while some of you may not approve of using a Doodle for a "duck dawg" ... that is their genetic destiny, in case you didn't know it!

So ... other than fetching some ducks and geese on his birthday, he also got to open presents and have cake and ice cream at his first B-day party with his two best 4-legged buds. That is a tradition at our house for our dawgs for more than 30 years and I expect it will continue awhile longer.

Awwww! Malcolm will be 1 May 10, 2012. I'm not sure exactly what we'll do but I know there will be a celebration. There will be cake and presents and I believe we'll spend a day at Wag's Park.

Everything looks like GREAT FUN for a dog's Birthday or any day!

I particularly got hung up on Wags Park! WOW! That park is incredible! I feel like jumping in the car and doing a road trip just for Bogart!

I'm really anxious to check it out. It's about a 45 min drive for me. It had just opened up when my Jesse got sick so I didn't get to take him...which makes me sad because he would have LOVED it so much.

Anyway...I have a question...

Do you just buy them a regular cake for their bday?

I have been looking into cake recipes for Juneau and they are all slightly different from the 'average human cake' since dogs body's don't always react the same way to certain foods like we do.

I think I am going to make him a Peanut Butter Birthday Cake since he LOVES peanut butter!!

Rusty sure looked like he had a blast on his birthday!!

Rusty has a blast at EVERY party. There's six each year when you include wifey person, her Mom and me ... and the three dawgs. And that doesn't even include Xmas and other festive occasions.

Carol usually makes or buys a plain white cake and then frosts it with something tasty that the dawgs get little or none of ... but they do get a small scoop of vanilla ice cream with their cake (of course).

Great link, Nikkiey I bookmarked that one

I was thinking of having my mom make him a cake of some kind, so. Either a white cake or perhaps a special doggie recipe cake.
