Default The boys had their first 'rumble'

Whew!!!

I need a strong drink!

Tuxedo, my now 10yr old black lab (110lbs), and my 6month old labradoodle (40lbs) just got into their first little fight...okay, well not so little...and it was really only one sided and one bite.

Both boys survived and no grudges are being held.

The three of us were in the living room watching tv and just relaxing. Poor Jasper laid down on his bone and was looking for it, then Tux thought Jasper was going for his bone and Tuxedo bit him Tux has never tried to do that before. I guess he is starting to see Jasper as more of a dog now, than a puppy. Tux didn't attack by any means, but I think even Tux was surprised that he made 'contact' ...

Jasper got a little chunk bitten out of his eyebrow and a baby canine tooth got knocked loose...

After me pulling out the dangling tooth and getting out the peroxide (and cleaning up the blood on the carpet and Jasper's hair)...Jasper is doing fine. He will have a scar above his eye but hopefully hair will grow back, and the tooth was going to fall out anyway...

I just panicked for a minute but I didn't let them see it...this is my first time having big dogs that act like dogs...and I am home alone...

hopefully my story even makes sense...thanks for reading...

Good job not panicking! No matter how aware or even prepared someone thinks they are for that kind of situation it will always be a shock. I'm glad that nothing more happened between them, and I'm sure Jasper will now think twice about how close he should be to Tux and his bone!

Good job on the staying calm bit though - I know it would have been really hard for me.
