My little Grizzly Bogart :)

Many of you know that Bogart is my Service Dog for PTSD and I share him as a therapy dog with our local hospital (where he had to go through an intense evaluation in a room filled with psychiatrists, veterinarians and the whole scope of people who know dogs.......and in a small room with about 10 other dogs.

)

He is THE most gentle, loving and kind dog I have ever had! in the work he does, he gets bopped on the head with books or just plain lack of understanding by children with autism or Down Syndrome.
The other day at Mass, a boy accidentally stepped on his tale and he barely moved.

If asked, he crawls his almost 70 LB body into hospital beds with people such as 90 year old women with tons of IV's and things going on. So gentle!
Hw walks with me through malls, grocery stores........everywhere.....and he is sooo good and loving. Only ONE time was he leary of a man at the mall. It was the first time he wasn't too fond of the guy. It's like he sensed the man was up to no good or something.......doggy sense, ya know?

So, this past Sunday, we were invited over to a friends house for cocktail hour and dinner. My husband took Bogart there first and I walked and got there about an hour late.
Our friends mother had brought her 2 dogs and the friends had one......so we had a play date with 4 dogs!

When I go there, I came in through the back gate where my friends were gathered having cocktails and hors d'ouevres and all the dogs came running to me. One of them was a Boston terrier who decided to "take me on".
Bogart wouldn't have any of this.
He seriously did something I have NEVER seen him do before!
He reared up on his hind legs, front paws up in the air, fangs hanging out and growling like I never heard!

SO! This sweet, darling little doodle IS my protector! I am totally impressed!

Oh Linda Marie, what a wonderful brave Bogart! I bet you are so proud of him! I know I am

I already love Bogart because he is the spit of my beloved Barney, but to know he is such a brave, protective doodle as well is wonderful to hear. Well done Bogart.

Thanks, Katie! I keep telling people now that..."OH!! He protects me so well too!"

I especially tell this to people like total strangers. Yesterday, we had a guy come in to fix our windows and Bogart was all doodly over him....kisssey.....lovey! I wanted him to know not to mess with me!

i can say that Toby is nearly the opposite when it come s to sticking up for anyone..
