Default Meet Barski

After a lot of research (mostly from this site, Thanks!) we decided to get a mini-labradoodle. We had three Poodles, one standard and two toys, but the oldest one died last Aug. (he was 16) and we could see that the other two were also getting old and their time with us was short. We wanted to get a puppy before they were gone hoping they would help the puppy transition to our family and maybe the puppy would add a little joy to their lives as well.

We bought Barski from a local breeder on March 19th when he was 7 weeks old.

He's third generation (not sure about the F** classification) and his coat is very soft and not as curly as our poodles. We hope he doesn't shed.

He hit it off great with our Standard Poodle Casper and I think Barski thought he was his big brother. Sadly Casper got stomach cancer and we had to put him down in May. Magic, our toy poodle, was 16 years old and she was blind and deaf. She used Casper as her 'seeing-eye dog' and we just didn't think she would be happy without Casper so we had them both put down together. That was one of the worst days of my life. Barski was depressed for several days too but he is back to his old self now.

Here is Barski meeting some of our other black and white animals:

And here he is meeting is cousin 'Rocky' (My son's dog)

We don't mind the poodle look and we wanted to see his face so we tried grooming him like we did our poodles.

We're still not sure if we like his new look but hay it will grow back right?

So far he has been a wonderful dog and we love him to pieces.

Thanks for reading,
Roger

Barksi looks like a great dog. I love his colouring.

I'm so sorry to hear about your poodles, what a hard decision to have to make. At least you had Barksi to comfort you.

Barksi looks very poodly with that cut. I like the shaggy dog look myself, but hubby likes the poodle look. That is one of the great things about hair...its grows back and you get all the fun of trying a different cut!
