Default Well that didn't seem to work...

We bought some dog deterrent as Roxy seems to pee in just one area in our back garden, burning the grass, and also likes to dig in one corner (grr). Basically it was just finely ground pepper. So we spread it over where we didn't want her to go and let her out.

Not. Fazed. At. All. She sniffed around for a bit and then didn't bother. She even ate some of the grass!
Back to the drawing board I think...

OH! Do I ever recall going through all this 2 summers ago!
My problem was different though. We WANTED Bogart to go in one area..........now he does......but then it was all over the place!

The digging.....hmmm......One training tip we got was to have a clothesline with a clasp made for inside and outside the house. So, one was around 4" and the other about 12".
We soaked the clothesline in YUCK so Bogart wouldn't chew on it.
Then, we had this thing on him inside and outside.
The purpose is to reel them in with a loud NO when caught doing something wrong!

Besides...Roxy will be so busy trying to figure out the clothesline...she'll forget about digging and everything else! :P :P :P

well i am giggling here as seriously most dogs esp/doodles would be GREAT for rototilling a garden in under an hour.

I dont' have a fenced in yard and live on 6 acres. I used to fill the holes and put rocks on them and every time
MAX would dig i'd say NO! and then bring him to an area play with him there and he has his OWN DIGGING area

Catching them in the act......you can stop them just as you do with NO chewing shoes, no jumping etc
same concept........say NO , divert attention and praise them when they don't dig and listen.

My doodles learned NOT to go potty inmy gardens, not to dig in them, NOT to go under pool deck where it's cool and muddy
BUT IT MEANT i was with them 24/7 in the yard.......BUT i always had a frisbee and flying squirell toy IT took a few months
but finally they caught onl the UH UH word really helped too and a sense of humor while keeping a HUGE bag of soil on hand.

at one point people would ask me why ihad rocks randomly placed in my yard i told them it was a new ART ROCK DECO design
(why explain hahhaaaaaaaaa i'd rather see eyes pop out and get a good laugh)

Thanks for the advice.Just now we have chicken wire around the spots where we're trying to grow the grass back (she likes to eat the compost for some reason).

i've posted this before without much replies, but my neighbor told me she gives her tea cup poodle something to eat that changes the nitrogen level in his pee. It is the nitrogen that burns the grass. I wonder if it is safe? There is something called grass biscuits or some other name. Is anyone aware of anything like this?

NOPE all i know is that with EVERGREEN bushes hose it down so it doesn't get burned and die out.

NOW as your doodle puppy ages he will go POTTY more in one area eventually whih you can determine the best place is.
