Well that went surprisingly well. Think it had to do with him being up on a table and no real escape route. He was fine except for up around his head, which we'll get to later. Just sat/laid there and let me clip.

I've read before that a #4 is good for the body. I'm having to piece my grooming collection together so I just have the finer blade that came on my clippers and it made it a little more of an adventure, I believe. I got a cheaper set at Petsmart and am not really sure if the blades can even be changed on it or not tho.

Congrats, looks good. I have a cheapy pet smart clipper too. They do the job OK if its not a regular thing. I used human grade clippers once, what a disaster. I was left with dull blades, a hot motor, and a 1/2 clipped doodle.

Great job! I bet that you can't keep your hands off of him now! They feel so good after a clip.....
Petedge is VERY reasonable with grooming supplies... I use a #30 with a clipper comb. You could also use a #10 that comes with your clipper it too. http://www.petedge.com/product/Millers- ... /44028.uts They have some great deals on blades too if they fit your clippers... I love the old standard, the Oster A5 golden single speed. http://www.petedge.com/product/Grooming ... /45643.uts |

He looks awesome!
Are his legs actually that big, or is that his coat? Bogart has stick-dog legs!

It's just kinda first stage right now. Got some more to work on. After getting him out in the sun today you can see how uneven it really is. :P I actually haven't done his legs yet, so he looks like he has on leg warmers. I got to the point where I took the comb attachment off and just grabbed handfuls of hair and clipped it, figure after I get it down to manageable I can go back and even it up with the attachment. Still have some trimming around the head/face too, he's not quite so still for that part of it.
Ebay had the best prices I saw at the time for the A5. Around $100 I think? Maybe someday.
