Default Grooming intro.

I've started trying to get McGee used to being groomed. Usually anything near his face and he's trying to sniff it and put his mouth on it, so it's slow going trying to get him to let me get the scissors near him and him be still. I'm mostly just petting a lot, giving tons of 'good boy' when he's calm, and taking my snips when I can cause at times he'll be still. So right now he's got a little bit of bangs, half a beard, and one side of his muzzle is shorter than the other, but I can see his eyes!!!

Oh, if you could see my grooming! LOL
I am good at sissors, but my dogs lie down and enjoy their belly being trimmed...and it is VERY hard to get their back that way!
So, I just get my clippers out twice a year and clip them down...I used to hate that, but now I like it because it gives me a chance to look carefully at their skin. I always find something that I wish I would have known about.
Sounds like you have it down pat for his face and bangs, but in case you are still perfecting the technique, I use two hands, with my left hand, I "finger sissor" the hair, placing the palm of my hand over their skin or eyes...that way I will never nip them. Dog skin is VERY loose and it is so quick to pull out that you don't even see it coming...and you can easily nick their neck or ears or even belly...so this technique helps me to keep it under control. Plus it keeps me from cutting it too short.
Good job! (Pictures?)

I think you did a great job! And he looks happy, not too traumatized by the whole thing, which is important.
