NOW i am wondering I was just wondering which breed do you think comes through more dominant in your doodle?
no doubt about it PRINCESS PEANUT is like having a golden retriver that doesn't shed she also ALWAYS has one of her "fowl toys" in her mouth, ever so soft as well. Max is mostly poodlish or say about 90 poodlish in his personality----his lab side appears when he swallows socks otherwise he'slight as a feather on his feet. smart as whip. jumps 6 ft easily. understands and learns quickly is aloof to strangers but don juan with family and close friends and is my 24/7 shadow. PS JAC don't worry you can list MORE than a few of yours PSS and DAVE HONEY (fiance) he's ALL RETRIEVER AND not poodlish in any way

Samson - he's my lab - loves to chew and retrieve. The lake is his favorite place in the world (but for some reason doesn't really like the shower). LOVES to be dirty, the muddier the better! Will stay outside in the snow, sleet, rain...it doesn't matter. Only wants to come inside if it's dark or he's been outside for at least an hour.
Henry - he's 100% poodle, even if he technically has some lab in him. He's a total drama queen. Prances, jumps, hates being dirty. Doesn't like the water as much, but loves the bath (he's getting clean of course). This morning he was doing high kicks so his feet wouldn't touch the mud as much. Henry wants inside the second his has finished his business. And since you added Dave Honey, I'll add Edwin, the boyfriend, 110% lab!!!!! Absolutely no poodle in that boy! |

Gus-he is a lab. He Sheds. He is food obsessed. He is a fetch machine.
Hershey- is a nice mix of both, maybe a little more poodle. Less food oriented, independent, will fetch but not forever. Aero- all puppy. right now all I can say is she likes to play, sleep, wrestle, and cuddle. We will be heritage testing her with her other DNA tests, so I will know the ratio in the future! |

Honestly, every one of our dogs shows a little of each, depending on the circumstance.
Talking about shedding, I have 2 F1 LD girls that shed oand one F1 GD that sheds...the others are all non shedding. Some prance like Poodles, but they chew and retrieve like Labs/Goldens. They are all retrievers, even Poodles...so that is strong in them...and they are all water dogs so they love the water (not the rain though...go figure. They have the Poodle intelligence, all of them...but sometimes a little Goofy attitude comes in too...don't know where that comes from but Doodles are typically goofy. Some are extremely graceful, absolutely beautiful, like the Poodle...others are a good mix of strength and power...true athletes... Most people don't consider Poodles as athletic...but they are...and they are water retrievers so they contribute much of what we see as "Lab" traits... Basically...I think that Doodles are unique...not like Labs or Poodles or Goldens...but just like Doodles! |

Bogart definitely has his English Yellow Lab Mom.....Rosie........in him in his boxy body, muzzle and disposition.
The only thing that comes out in him from Louie, his dad.......is his periodic aloofness....... :P AND.........his dad's coloring of the silver beige is coming out in his legs, top of his head........and right below the tail........ My little tie-dyed DOODLE!

Beck looks more like a poodle except for his big lab nose, he's very smart, learns just about anything that you want him to do with very little effort, but he is also very much the clumsy clown, he will run through the house build up to full speed then slide all the way down the hall (we have hardwood floors) and smack his head on the door at the end of the hall, get up- smile and do it again 3 or 4 more times.

if there is such a thing..Toby must be a doggie nerd..
he s very smart like a poodle and as mellow and sweet as a lab..he has the long legs of a standard poodle and a thicker body of a lab.. remember the the cartoon Baby Huie?..thats who Toby reminds me of.. yet i feel that im really fortunate that Toby has the best of the poodle and best of the lab in him..cept the combination will probably result in a forever puppy.. |
