My little Bogart..this stinks!BUT! Kelly ROCKS!

It's been a long couple of weeks of boredom here for my doodle.
The places we have been taking him are starting to turn us away b/c some people just don't like dogs and sneak around complaining!

He is on the waiting list at a local hospital for a year now and we are due to be called, but the "evaluator" has a broken leg and can't do it until healed. We had been taking him to the hospital annex where kids just love him and have begged that he be there every Wednesday at 2:30. They have come to rely on him.....but some secretary asked if he was yet "approved" by the hospital. Since he hasn't, we have to wait now.

THEN! Every Saturday, he goes over to the church where this nun runs a Special Ed program. These autistic and Downe Syndrome kids LOVE HIM! BUT! The nun is afraid of him.......so she, more or less, is asking that we limit his visits.

We went to the local Library and they loved Bogart....BUT! Some people have 2 dogs and they have monopolized the program and they're not calling us back!

So, we went to the elementary school down the street and asked that the principal call us. She did and sounds interested, but it's taking FOREVER to get him in there too!

What is WRONG with this scenario?? I am really kinda ticked off! Here all we want to do is share a TDI dog and we get grief! It brings so many people so much JOY as well as US!! Grrrrrrrrrr...........I just don't get it! Bogart has been angelic in every place he's been! It's not HIM..........it's THEM!!

Sorry...I had to vent.
This weather is getting all of us down here. On Friday night, I mall walked Bogart for 3 hours!

At least little kids at the mall got a chance to pet him!
One adult woman walked up to him, bent over him and started waving her hair all over his face!

He LOVED IT!!
Then the other day in our boredom, he FINALLY got to play with Finn.......choked on a stick.......and wound up getting X-rays.

$198.........nothing is wrong.....thank GOD.....but ummmmm........a tad of the runs going on!

I WANNA SHARE MY DOG.......DANG IT ANYWAY!

LINdA........vent away honey as you are meeting many roadblocks at the moment.
why? some is red tape and other is plain ignorance and lastly others like you stated taking advantage of the program.

Hang in there!!!!

UGH Linda - VENT AWAY!!!! How frustrating. I hate all the red tape you have to go through just to get something done. You'd think they'd be less of it concerning Bogie and you, since YOU'RE VOLUNTEERING!!!! Hope Bogie gets out there soon!

Linda, I understand your frustration...you and Bogie have trained for this, you have passed your training and you are ready to do good for people who would enjoy a visit from Bogie...

There will always be people who have no social skills...these are the people who put their needs or desires above everyone elses... I know how angry they can make you, but try not to let them get to you. Realize that they are creating their own world and it is filled with anger and hate...let it go, enjoy Bogie and make opportunities for you both, like you have done...and soon the opportunities will come.

Thanks for understanding my frustration!
I called the hospital today to see where we are as of TODAY and what they could do about the annex.
It IS flaming REDTAPE!

The hospital just hired a new CEO and all kinds of changes are being made.......grrrrr
BUT! I was told that this woman is pushing me into hospital pediatrics ASAP! I should know next week!

OHHHHHHHHHHHHH! The GOOD news!!!!!!!!!! I am meeting my future daughter-in-law tomorrow............alone for LUNCH!!!!!!!!!

I haven't seen her since she was 7!!! WOOOOOOHOO!!!!!!!!!
I just had a looooooooong talk with her. There is a lot of LOVE going on out there!!

I'm a bit nervous here but keep thinking, isn't it HER that should be nervous??

After talking to her for almost 2 hours yesterday, however, I think we're like both comfortable. She was telling me stories of what I used to say to her when she was "little". I hardly recall them, but when she tells me, I have a vague memory.
Apparently, at the young age between 5-7, I was already taking her under my wing and defending her from the "boys"!!

She said I would say, "Awww, Kelly...........you just come over here and we'll do something even more fun!"

BTW......I SCRUBBED my house yesterday!!

Even though she'll only be here a short while before we leave for lunch.......I SCRUBBED!! :P

This thread has turned into an entirely NEW thingie!

BUT! Envision a grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat girl and a wonderful time!
I absolutely LOVE her and gave her my diamond all wrapped up so Andy could give it to her. He couldn't get here to pick it up himself.

I have never been so HAPPY when i passed it along to her!! She is everything anyone MIL could want in a DIL!!!

I know...........we're not quite that status yet, but I can't even wait!! What a GLORIOUS occasion.....and much, much more to come!!

Walkswithpoop didn't want us to leave and go to lunch!

I think he now has a crush!

Like me, she is not very photogenic. By pictures, he gave her an EH! 8! When he saw her it was beyond a 10 and he said a Nicole Kidman!!

Then add, brains, personality.......and just a natural and WONDERFUL person! YIPPEEEEEEEEE!
