Like the subject says, I went hiking with 2 adult doods, a puppy, and a toddler (and DW) today. It started out a little chaotic getting from the truck accross the road and into the conservation area. Once we were safely in and I unleashed all the dogs, yes the puppy too, it was easy and they all had a blast. This was Aero's first big hike at a busy doggie time. She met over a dozen new dogs and did great. She ran and played so well. Her recall is great, even for a puppy under 4 months old, so we let her off leash for more than 1/2 the hike. She did us proud, even recalling as a pack of very exciting dogs went the other way. We got asked "what are they" alot, and when I say "Labradoodles", they always respond "OH, from a chocolate lab" since Aero and Hershey are brown. But then they look at Gus and ask again, "What is he? Any Wolfhoud in him", at least a dozen times. "He is a Labradoodle too, he just has a hair coat and not a fleece coat", etc.....Poor big boy always gets a few puzzled stares. It was very good socialization for Aero, meeting new dogs and new people, which we are so happy to start now that her shots are all finished. I'll upload a few pics after I get home tonight. I hope they turned out OK.
From what I recall, we met a few mixes, but also two yellow Labs, a Bernese, a Boxer, a Chow, a Lab/border Collie, a White Shepherd, a Mini Schnoodle, two Border Collies, a Shih Tzu, two German Short Haired Pointers, a Bouvier, and an Aust. Labradoodle (with a surprisingly non-social owner so I couldnt even find out where they got it |

Hey, Todd! Can't wait for the pictures!
Sounds like you had a great time...a heck of a lot of organization, but a lot of fun! Isn't it funny? I have a dog placed as a service dog...everyone thinks he is an Irish Wolfhound! |
