Finally I have had a chance to upload some pics. No manny and nothing great. We are at the lake house for a rare two week vuisit and since most of our friends don't come here in winter, the plan was to have all kinds of time to do all kinds of stuff but wouldn't you know, where does the time go????? One problem is it is usually stormy this time of year but this year, not only did we get minimal snow, it rained the other day making everything a mess. And when the sun is out, I feel guilty about laying around watching movies. We also, somehow, do more than our share of entertaining. Plus, we were sick, soooo; does all this add up to an excuse for limited pics?????
View of the drought'ridden diminishing lake from our house: ![]() Dakota's curiosity lures him to I don't know what! ![]() But he must not have like it, cause he's ooking just plain silly about something obviously distasteful to him!! ![]() We did have a first time experience--ice fishing!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Dakota can never resiste playing cougar--even in the snow! ![]() I was so proud of Dakota. We have put a lot of effert into training him NOT to chase "moving objects" -- especially deer. I was walking him out back when we inadvertantly spooked a herd of about 10 deer. Dakota casually looked up at them running off and went about doing his own thing!! Good boy, Dakota!!! The deer here are very tame and my neighbors on either side feed them so we often have deer gathering in front of our house. Here's a few trying to sample some bird seed!!!

Whewie! Diane, if these are "not very good" pictures...I am in biiig trouble! My pics don't even come close!
But, what can you say? When you have a Dakota...and he does his normal exploration of the world around him? He is such a remarkable dog... Don't you just wonder what he is thinking? He obviously loves his life! It is scary that the lake is so low. I hope that more moisture comes along soon! If not, we will be in a world of hurt this summer. I am sorry you are not feeling well...I hope it is nothing serious and that you will all be much better very soon! Oh, and by the way, I think that you have some calendar worthy shots here too! Dakota, the deer, the scene...yessiree! |
