Had our first snow overnite. Took McGee a minute to step off the patio into it. Then it took him 5 minutes of running around, hopping, sniffing, and eating it before he would do his business. Barely got him still enough for a couple of pics:

haha! This will be Ozzie's 3rd winter and he still isn't quite sure what to make of it. All he knows is his face and feet get all snowbally and cold but he has fun. We usually have to make him come inside to thaw out! Silly doodle-sickles!

No snow yet here @ 3500 ft. (N. CA) but...... it was 0 degrees on my backporch at 8 am. this morning!
They say we could hit as low as 20 below by Tuesday! Weird weather! As much as my 2 love to be outside, they sure have been quick to want back in lately!!! |

We had about 5 minutes of snow today...we don't often get snow...and it was really cute to watch our dogs. They just sat there, looking up into the sky. They were very still and quiet. It was quite a site to behold! (My dogs being quiet and still, I mean.)

Oh my gosh! We had a very unusual weather pattern and all night long it was snowing...those huge, 50-cent-piece sized flakes, falling so softly and gently...it was stunning! This morning, we had about 4-5 inches...I took a lot of pictures because we have a lot of Ponderosa Pines, Oaks and smaller pines...and one Palm tree! LOL It looked like Christmas at our property, and we didn't have to decorate at all!
But...I enjoyed it so much that I let my upstairs dogs out into their huge yard, to play in the snow...they were so happy...and I went to the downstairs dogs and let them out into their (rarely used because of stupid neighbor dogs) fenced acre...well, they were running and enjoying themselves so much...and the neighbor's dogs came out, taunting mine...then they all ran the fence line, barking and carrying on...and, of course, that got my upstairs dogs all excited and they BROKE THROUGH their fence! Next thing I knew, I was looking at some very familiar dogs running around the unsecured property! Of course, when you go after them, calling them (and they are in a pack) there is no way they will come...so I did the Annmarie tactic, I turned and went into the house...nope. Didn't work. I paniced and called my husband who had to leave work (45 minutes away) to come and find dogs... After driving to find them, with no luck, I decided to just go home and wait...leaving the garage door open...pretty soon they all came dragging into the house, one at a time, but they were all home. They were covered in snow balls and they looked pretty rough, Bailey had huge cockle-burrs in her coat...right up to her skin (I was tempted to leave them...teach her! Agh, I couldn't.) Just after I got Bay in, and now had all of the dogs rounded up, thank God, Dave drove up...so he helped me to calm down and he went out to fix the fence. Now he is back to work...good husband. Before they all ran off, I got some great pics, but they are on my phone, I'll see if I can get them and I'll post some...because it really is beautiful. |
