Tomorrow is Mandy's big day. She will be tested for Canine Good Citizenship. I am nervous, she is running around exploring the yard after her bath and having a great time. We have had 2 run-throughs so far and she did fine on them. I just hope tomorrow she is the mood to perform. I took her to my class again this week and she did wonderfully. She knows when the bell rings we go into the hall and she gets lots of attention from the students. Even ones I don't teach ask about her when she isn't there and love to pet her when she is there. I am amazed at how well she does on the stairs now (rubber coats them), she even goes slowly for me so I don't get pulled down them by her. Her coat is starting to change some, a little more white here and there is showing through the brown. She is gorgeous.
The trainers have all said she has "soft eyes" and there is never any aggression shown from her, even when other dogs act like fools. She is also a big girl now, weighing in at 62.7 lbs. But there isn't any fat on her. Naturally she is a velcro dog, always waiting outside a door for me, or looking to see where I am. I love being with her and can't wait until spring for therapy testing so she can go to work with me every day.

Wow, congratulations! She is lovely- that picture must be a new one? She sounds like a gentle soul like Beck, I so wish the two could play together sometime- he's about the same size- 65 lbs

Hi Lynn, The picture of Mandy is pretty recent, she still looks the same. Both of ours are about the same size! She is so sweet, except to her stuffed toys! Most of those are de-stuffed now. Aren't they great dogs!

I am so thrilled we just got home and had to report that Mandy passed the CGC. I am so happy for her. Six dogs were tested, Mandy and her Standard Poodle boyfriend passed the test along with 2 other dogs. And 2 failed, one lady was rather unhappy her dog failed so we left quickly after being told we passed. The 2 that didn't pass I kind of figured they wouldn't since they barked and lunged and the trainer's testing dog.
Mandy did great, she did everything she was to do and behaved perfectly, never a peep out of her. I am so relieved and she is exhausted now, since we were there 3 hours. She also graduated Advanced training tonight. I will post pictures in a little while. Happy dance time, Mandy passed and is a big girl now!!!
