Well as usual you guys were so right - It was SO much fun bringing Samson along with us for the weekend to camp. Here's some pictures:
Samson wanting to go outside and play: ![]() I just loved this picture, think he looks like a stuffed animal ![]() Notice all the red in Samson's face: ![]() We went down by the lake and some girls were throwing rocks into the water. Samson decided to play fetch: ![]() ![]() Samson all wet, doing the Doodle prance: ![]() Samson and my boyfriend - AWWW ![]() And last but not least, not from camping trip but figured I'd share, Issac and Samson playing: ![]() Samson had SO much fun, he thought it was cruel and unusual punishment at first to be on a leash all the time, even if it was 20 ft long. LOL. He was a favorite at the camp sites during our walks, everyone asked what kind-of dog he was, they couldn't figure it out. He was also the only dog on the camp grounds that was over 5 lbs. LOL. He LOVED the water, he TRIED fetching rocks that were being thrown in the lake, but dang it those things sink as soon as they hit the water. Didn't stop him from trying through. Tried catching moths, and he did catch one, and accidently killed it. So worn out when he got home, he just walked inside and plopped himself down in the hallway. And may I just add - Samson was so well behaved the entire trip! I was so proud. He did great on the leash, listened, and didn't eat anything he shouldn't. LOL! |

Yeah Max and Peanut are right - longer wouldv'e been better, I went to Petco and 20 ft was as long as they got in cotton leashes. The Petco lady told me they sold chains that I could connect together for more length, I was like UM NO THANK YOU! And since it was our first trip, I didn't want him to get to far ahead of me - I didn't know how he'd act, etc. I'll head to Petsmart before the next trip!!

Morning Michelle! You can fill the kong with little pieces of kibble, or yogurt or peanut butter, or all three if you wish!

Michelle - I think a long lead is terrific. Head to Petsmart. Max & Peanut emailed Samson and told him to tell his Mommy to get a 50 ft cotton leash at Petsmart! LOL. Dingy Mommy only got a cotton 20 ft leash.
Some sort of GOOD chew toy is always a good idea! And a huge plus on a camping trip. When we were roasting marshmellows, it gave Samson something to do too. We actually went camping AGAIN this past weekend. This time I got to bring Issac with me. (I have Issac during the week, and the last weekend of every month). Samson had a BLAST! And again was the talk of the camp grounds. Everybody wanted to know what kind-of dog he was and it never failed, the people asking either had a poodle, or a lab. One couple had me check his feet because they wanted to know if they were webbed like a lab. And hey, his feet are webbed like a labs feet. LOL. Samson is also the entertainment for the kids - Samson has perfected fetching sticks out of the lake. So at one point we had 3 different couples kids down at the lake having a blast with Samson. They all wanted me to teach him how to shake when he got out of the water on command. They thought that was the coolest thing. They could get wet without going in the water. We have a blast camping with Samson. |

YEP.........TOLD YOU!
Great pictures.....GREAT!! love the way they just shine when in the outdoors and near a lake!! My husband is headed North on a fishing trip this week with hus buddies. He HATES the fact that Bogart won't be there!! .........Oh !and I guess me too! Yes! People always pay close attention to these doodles. Bogart is always first mistaken for a PWD or a Bouvier. I always think.........hmm.......a bouvier with long ears and tail?

Yeah we usually get "is he part Sheepdog?" LOL.
The cool thing was on THIS trip - the boyfriend started talking about Samson and explaining his breed. "Yeah, see Samson has a lab like tail - but more of a poodle face, and he likes the water, but prances in it like a poodle." LOL. It was very cute! |
