Today I went to theToyota service center to change the oil, rotate tires, etc. Knowing it would take a while I took Mandy for company. Wasn't sure if they would let her in the waiting area, but they did. We were there 2 hour, seemed like 8, and she was sooooooo good. Everyone in there fell for her, she sat nicely by me or laid down. Waited to be petted by people, politely. She was so great I was very proud. The ones there that new about labradoodles were impressed with the breed and her. They couldn't believe she was this good and only 4 months old.
besides it was a good experience for her to be in a different environment. She is really growing and becoming so well behaved. The puppy classes are a good thing, but she knew most of the commands before we went, the socialization is the best part. She comes home exhausted. I did get her a gentle leader since she becomes very excited when we get to Petsmart for classes and would pull to get inside. While I am still in the cast and therapy starts next week, I needed it for my own pertection at this time. And it works great, of course she doesn't pull often but this helps to avert it. I will add some pictures soon.

Yes, she is getting bigger every day! When we got her 2 months ago she was smaller than Cookie!!! She is such a good girl, I couldn't imagine having a better puppy. The worst thing she does is steal (try to) Cookie's food. I was glad when she stopped biting clothes or hands, that took being patient and consistent, but it didn't last long either. I do think having plenty of chew toys helps. She is everything I had hoped and more, I love my girl!!!!

Cindy,
She's beautiful. Is she one of Todd's pups? If not, she'd make a good girlfriend (albeit neutered) for Beck! Liz

I can't believe how fast they GROW! I still can recall your pic of her on that dining room table!!
She is SO ADORABLE!! It is SO great that she is getting that kind of exposure like at the car dealership. Anywhere that they will allow dogs, they should be taken. It is such a wonderful learning experience!! A far as exhaustion. When Bogart was undergoing his intense training, we were ALL exhausted. Our trainer made some comparison of training to intense exercise. It's amazing how a dog training or working is more exhausted then after a few hours of exercise! As for the owner........we are as well! I recall after just one hour of training (because the OWNER is being trained as much as the dog), we would just sit down and pass out for awhile!

Liz, Mandy is one of Maureen's from Truffle and Sheenan.
Training is tiring, especially if Mandy is having a hard time paying attention, in a store is difficult with people coming up and wanting to look/pet them while learning a new command. But I also think the distractions may help in the long run. And we practice all the time at home, on walks, and now at the car dealer! Man, I think she grows overnight in her sleep. Three weeks ago she weighed 27 we go to the vet this afternoon wonder what she will be now? She was 11 lbs when I got her, such a big girl now.

Her coloring is a little confusing right now. She has black undercoat on shoulders and bottom which are easy to see in the light, and some white hairs are coming up when you look at her coat up close. Her brown is still dark, except the tips and her face (sun?). Will be interesting to see when she gets her big girl coat! LOL In the house she looks very deep brown, with a little "highlights" here and there.
