So, I take Bogart to the open field behind a hockey and skateboard park yesterday.
It was starting to cold col again.....like right now it's 21 degrees from yesterday's 52! It's a great place to go because the lawn seems to be taken better care of and usually there are not too many mud puddles. NOT so yesterday. I was chucking balls for Bogart and things seemed to be going fine. ABout the 4th run and catch, he came back to me and was a disaster! His tail looked like it was covered in cement, his face had chunks of mud and I can't even describe what his feet and legs looked like. So, I figured..why not stay? He's a mess anyway. By the time we left, he was a solid mudball. He hopped in the back of my Tahoe and luckily, I had a floor mat back there, but not enough to cover everything. Then he started to do the SHAKE think and sprinkled mud all over the inner car! I drove to a place I THOUGHT was a do it yourself dog wash. NOT! So, it's 4PM and I'm thinking, I don't even want to being him in the house to walk to the bath tub! Luckily, our groomer made a special effort to take him and bathe him. When I dropped him off, there was a guy in the parking lot with his dog and he started laughing hysterically at his appearance!! When I brought him inside, the people started cracking up too!! But, he sure had fun! I wound up driving to a place where I could vacuum the car and armor all the seats etc.............what a mess!

Sounds like someone had an extremely fun day !!
ps - after having 4 waterloving labs, I always keep towels in our vehicles for water or muddy encounters to get the majority cleaned up before opening car doors |
