I am really, really lean on pics. Those that I did get we not very good. But here they are anyway. --Others are so blurred, looking at them makes you a bit dizzy!!!!! . . .
And just some added info for anyone considering Splash Dogs, the staff really helps get your dog initiated. They know all the tricks for coaxing a dog off the dock for the first time. They are also VERY strict about following safety procedures. Anyone trying to force an unwilling dog off the dock is invited not to participate because this really breaks the bond of trust and could wind up hurting the dog . . . I strongly encourage you to go for it if you are considering it. Practice in pools, off other docks, etc is all very helpful but even dogs that are totally comfortable in another setting sometimes freeze at Splash Dogs because it is very loud and distracting, 20 or 30 excited dogs are barking and howling and it is just a crazy setting BUT freezing-up is ok--the staff almost always helps you reassure your dog and get them hyped up to join in the fun!!!! And Judi, thanks!!!!! You are right; Dakota earned a blue ribbon for his first wave and I didn't pick it up!!!!! Poor doodle!! All that work and I fall short!!!! I will claim it when we go to the next splash dog event!!!!! Dh took Dakota for his first practice run after a year away from Splash Dogs. It didn't occur to him to orient Dakota before sending him charging off the dock!!! Dakota had second thoughts and came to a screeching halt!!!! Whoa!!!!!! Hey, Daddy! Did you know we were gonna run outa ground???? Part of the plan???? Oh--OK--Got it!!!!! ![]() "GO, GO, GO, GO, GO, DAKOTA!!!!!!!" ![]() ![]() Lift-off!!! ![]() ![]() There were a couple of dogs that had to be lured out of the pool. Fortunately, Dakota headed right out and waited for his lead to be reattached. ![]() ![]() Tired doodle!!!!!

Great pics Diane (and Gene) Sounds like it was a great w/e
When I read one guy went in the pool - I was sure it was gonna be Gene getting "goated" into the pool by Dakota, I just can't get that one pic out of my mind where it looked like Dakota was charging Gene |
