Artic cold continues!!! Current temp is -15. Below zero temps all day with a wind chill warning. Winds blowing steadily. Wind chills this morning ranging from -30 to-45!!!! And tonight's air temps -23. Schools are closed because at those wind chills frostbite can occur in just minutes if skin is left unprotected!!
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! The 5 AM walk with Marley was more of a sprint. We actually went to the backyard to keep out of the wind if possible. At this extreme, even Marley has to bundled up a bit. The expression on his face says it all. "You are the one that has to go to work, why do I gotta get up at 5AM and go out there!!!" ![]() In a defiant "I ain't looking at the camera" move, Marley still insure why the hell we are out here. ![]() "I still ain't looking. Put the camera away and and lets go in and eat. Now!!!" ![]() "I am not coming back out til it hits zero" ![]() Any other winter fashion statements being made out there today in this cold weather. Let's see them. Marley thinks he is the only dog that is made to do this.

Marley looks - great!!! - I can tell he's a bit embarassed though!!! - We're having similar if not quite so bleak temps and conditions here as well - Stay warm - At Least the sun is out here this morning - we're at a measly -2. The wind chill is only -15, so all the kids are still in school today. I did have to wear the dog walking coat to work though - not exactly a fashion plate this morning!!! hamish was very quick with his business this morning!!

We have the same boots and I must say it takes me awhile to get 8 paws suited up! Both doodles give me their baleful looks when I pick up the boots. Charlie tries to hide. BUT there is no way they would get a walk today in -10 weather without them.
Marley looks ready! Deb

Marley is so prepared to brave the elements! And looks cute as usual.
It is bitter cold here too, and Stella always walks to the bus stop with us. I felt such guilt this morning at the bus stop when she starting lifting her paws one by one and shaking them trying to get the snow off b/c she was so frozen. I wanted to pick her up to spare her the cold (she's a little large for that), but all I could do was give her some paw massages with my gloves. So I may just have to invest in some sweet hiking boots like Marley's!

Oh! The JOY of living in Michigan and Wisconsin in January!!
We are not QUITE as bad as you, but the windchills are going to 25 below. I was out in this stuff last night driving and it was awful. Accidents everywhere. The salt wasn't even working on the streets. Marley look ADORABLE!! He wins the prize! This morning when I let Bogart out, he just stood there looking at me. All he wanted was IN! So, when he finally decided to do his biz and I brought hi back in, he was limping a little. I laid on the floor with him and held each of his paws in my hands to melt the snow. He was licking my hands like saying, "THANK YOU, MOM!"

We're subzero here too. We still walk the dogs 'cause they prefer to poop on walks.
The LOVE the snow though!

It was in the 5 to -5 range here today - right now at 10:30 p.m. it's -15.8... and my crazy dog loves it! He goes out, prances around in the snow, does a three legged squat that's pretty funny - he's about tummy high deep in snow anyway, then he prance some more, shoves his nose in the snow, prances, finds a nice chunk of ice to chew, prance prance, barks at anything that moves, prances to the door.... I should probably get him booties, but he'd probably chew them off. I don't let him stay out long - just long enough to get things done. Then he comes in and I wrap his paws in a warm towel, which he won't tolerate for very long, but it makes me feel better. We've been getting our exercise inside - luckily he's not so big.

It's really cold here too! (for us, anyway!) Highs today are in the upper 30's, and it's supposed to go down into the teens tonight! I'm stopping by Petco on my way home from work today to pick up a sweater for Tyke, because her hair is still short! And to think, this time last week, we were at an oyster roast beside Charleston Harbor, enjoying 68 degree weather!!
