I've shared the pics before of my 2 black girls ambitious digging projects. lol So there's no denying it now... they've got a real talent and know how to use it!
What's funny is that none of my 3 chocolates dig. Maybe it's a color thing?

it's a set up!!! -someone (the intruder) must have buried something near & dear to AB's heart (her tiara perhaps) and she was forced to retrieve it - she would never take a mud bath without permission!!!

Sadie loves to dig too. Our fence is now lined with big rocks because she is constantly trying to dig under it to play with the husky next door. Last week she was so caked in mud it took me almost an hour to wash it all off of her. After that, she was only allowed outside on a leash until the temperature dropped enough to turn the mud back to ice.

Digger here, too! We also have the red mud that is impossible to get out of fabric. When we catch Semi digging, one of us tells the other so the next time we take her out and she poops, we call, "Poop in the Hole" and toss her fresh one in the new trench!! LOL!! Gross but keeps her out of the hole for a few days. She had free reign to dig on the far side of the house but the front yard is off limits!
The other problem is that we have voles. So I know she can smell or hear them under the ground and that drives her nuts. We spray the front yard to keep them out, but the side yard is a maze of tunnels just under the grass so she has practically dug to Norfolk Island over there. We let her because we really want to visit our Doodle buddies over there!!
