These days I totally expect Daisy to be a pain in the patooty, she's nearly 8 months old. She's at that age. And I've been leaving her out of the crate when I leave the house now. Since she has decided the crate is evil and she'll squeeze out a poop in it if I leave her in there for an hour. She never did this before. So I puppy proofed the house and she is a no-crater now. Now all of a sudden, Dexter has decided he's a puppy too. During the course of today, first I walked into the living room and he had ripped a hole in a couch pillow and destuffed it all over the floor while I was in the next room! So I pick up the fuzz and scold him properly and turn my back to throw away the foam and there he is on the couch with my bra! So I take it away and scold him again. Then I go into the bathroom and I see him waltz by the door with a clothes hanger! I yell "drop it" and I hear it drop. I go to get it and he's got a receipt from my purse chomping it! So I get that away from him, and go into the office to get on the computer, and I hear him pick up my reading glasses! I yell "drop it" and he drops them on the couch. What the h**l? Where did this naughty doodle come from? Is he jealous that Daisy isn't getting the baby treatment anymore?
I just switched their food and I think maybe the new food has more energy in it or something, because there sure has been a lot of doodle 500's and wrestling and hijinks going on. Where is my calm, perfectly behaved little man? Oh, I know, he's hiding behind the devil-doodle evil twin!

hehe...it must be something about the name Dexter
Dex keeps going in and out of bad phases, but luckily he's still a good boy when we leave him unattended (knock on wood)...

Thanks for the laugh, sorry it's at your expense! You just have to wonder what gets in to their heads sometimes! I hope this phase passes quickly for your sanity's sake!

Abby is going through a pre teen phase too! I tell her sit and she looks at me without moving, I tell her watch me she looks the other way
I can't help but laugh (to myself) as I reach down to touch her rear end she plunks right down (very fast) into a perfect sit and seems to chuckle like she's teasing me. She is such a clown at times! I remember my golden's behavior being similar at the same age. Remember the Doodle Mantra...'and this too shall pass'

Oh Rita....I think you are making this story up!!! No way Dexter is that bad!! hhahahaha....good laughs though.
I hope Maya doesn't hit a stage when she turns 2 in May. She is just getting out of a mini stage right now. She was doing the same thing Abby was...."pretending" not to hear her commands. Silly doodles. |

Kirby's listening skills have improved so much!! We can call him in the middle of a doodlemania wrestling match and he will come on the first or 2nd time. He has become so much more in tune with us since turning 2. I really think it's dependent on the dog. If Kirby also wasn't listening I would think it's us

Dexter totally sounds like he's trying to relive his puppyhood!!! - I feel your pain - Hamish is acting the same way lately - his excuse - he's only 7 months old!!! - Hang in there - I'm sure he'll come around to his old self again soon - but PLEASE keep those antics coming - we all need a little comic relief during the dead of winter!!!

Too funny! I definitely have had those moments. Tell doodle to drop the sock, get back from putting the socks in the hamper, tell the doodle to drop the underwear, get back from putting the underwear in the hamper, tell the doodle to drop the t-shirt....At least it forces me to pick up any dirty laundry that I left laying around.
