Sorry but!......
It's just that I can totally relate!! You described it so well!

As trained as Bogart is, I can still identify with the. Receipts, toilet paper, paper towels, socks.
It's the tip tip tip toeing that shouts to me ..."LOOK OUT! I have something I'm not suppose to have and I'm going to hide and destroy it... hahaha!"

As irritating as it is......as wrong as it is...it still cracks us up! We have to discipline when it happens, but we also have to chuckle!

Bogart is now 16 months old and not near being 2 yet. So, it could get worse??

MTD........Abby is trained for service as well, yet she too does these things. I wonder what gets into their brains!!

OMG yes the tip-toeing is a dead give away. And also the looking down and up at you with the telescoping eyebrows! Bulging cheeks is a sign too. I'll hear Dex tip-toe into the kitchen to get to Daisy's food dish. I'll look around the corner and he hears my chair move, and he just tip-toes right on by like he was just out for a stroll. LOL He's such a brat!

Actually Linda it's completely normal. Richard Wolters in his Gun Dog, Water Dog, Family Dog series of books nailed it when he wrote of the stages dogs go through. I wish I had those books to quote from. I used to loan books to friends (never again). After a friend borrowed my training library he MOVED AND TOOK MY BOOKS. If I'm not mistaken 8-9 months and 14-18 months were periods when dogs test the rules. It's like preteen and teen periods of development. The solution was (is) back to basics on the leash. Bogie is a great dog, he's just being teen Bogie... Remember, 'and this too shall pass'.

Did those books give any tips for 27 months?
