Default Kirby's day out (lots of photos)

I took Kirby to check out a dog park and then an enclosed off leash hiking trail in North NJ today (It was huge - I think it's about 12 acres). We met up with a few other doodles and had a great time. I was so impressed with Kirby's recall. He wandered off (out of my sight) a few times, but I just called him and he came back. He had a minor squirmish with a Golden Retriever over a tennis ball but besides that was a very very good doodle.

We have to go back and take Dexter. I was not going to take 2 dogs on an off leash hike myself.

Anyway, here are a bunch of photos...

The actual dog park...

And from our hike. There were a total of 4 dogs, but most of my photos of the group came out blurry...too much motion

Wow, what a fantastic find for you! Both the dog park and the enclosed hiking trail look awesome! I'm jealous! Thanks for sharing all those wonderful pictures. Kirby and the others looked like they were in heaven getting to run free.

How wonderful! I wish we had a park like that -- 12 acres would be heaven.

Hi Leslie,

New Jersey seems to have the greatest parks (we are not so lucky here in CT). Where is this one precisely? I go often to visit my cousin in NJ, wonder if it is on the way....

Hi - this one is in the Watchung Reservation in South Orange (towards Springfield). We were told that dogs will need to be leashed on the trails starting in March (they're planting some new plants and don't want the dogs to trample them), but the actual dog park will remain the same. It's a beautiful area (I was a little leary about S Orange, but the reservation is in a beautiful hilly area). I forget how hilly NJ can be - where we live is totally flat!
