Before I got Denver I had not had a dog in many years and since I had only known males I chose a boy.
My second dog I also chose a male based on our experience with Denver. Temperment is of course the first priority
but I already had the utmost confidense in my breeder and her parent dogs so I knew what we were getting as far as that was concerned...............for us it just came down to what we were comfortable with and we have 5 very dominant female cats in the house so we felt another male would work better..................
