Default DOODLE SUMMER CUTS--Pictorial Examples

hello everyone.......i got to thinking this gets discussed so many times
as to what kind of cut to give various coated doodles.

SO how about we post a pic of differing cuts
give the length , any special things done etc., type of coat, and doodle

I will post in little while as mine were just groomed but they're too busy playing with Luna(the cat) to get a good pic hahaha

but for now an example would be

"peanut, f1 GD, fleece coat, usually 1/2in cut all over" and post pic

Peanut w/1 ---1 1/4in cut

"Max f1 LD, Hair coat, best shot shampoo and coat king and scissors
to thin out rest"
thus same look just a bit shorter and thinner
no fuzzies on floor either

No summer cut was needed for Dakota this year because we followed Annmaries suggestion and had his undercoat "blown out" and it worked!!! Hardly any shedding now and he seems comfortable with the temps outside!!

Great idea for a thread! Putting the specific info on what type of dog and what type of cut is brilliant! All us newbies can get an idea and know exactly what to tell the groomer.

What is a blow out of the undercoat and how do you ask for it?

Dexter - F1B labradoodle (fleece coat):

1/2 inch body cut - legs were progressively slightly longer until reaching the paws(very cute look, but he didn't stay as clean):

My prefered cut for summer - 1/3 (ask for the length between 1/4 to 1/2 inch) all over the body - head also cut short:

What you don't want - shaved body and head left long - doodle resembles Mr. Bigglesworth:

Thanks!

HAHA I just laughed outloud at this one.
This was EXACTLY how Layla's first haircut looked. I wasn't sure what to expect. When we got her home I couldn't help but laugh...until we got the scissors and trimmed her up.

this may be the cut that someone said you don't want, but it was okay for us for the first haircut!

Thanks for this thread, I'll be using some pictures to take to the groomers if you guys don't mind. Sadie is starting to get shaggy, but we want to wait until she has all her shots before taking her to the groomers just in case. Hmm need to update the avatar - she is definitely not that small anymore.

Oliver's first cut- 3/4 scissor cut. Oliver has a soft wavey fleece coat. They really cropped short under the belly and around the pads on the toes. His beard and ears were kept a bit longer then the rest of his body. Paws were trimmed short around the nails.

They are all SO cute! I'm definitely taking some of these pictures in when I bite the bullet and do the first cut... the doodles I've seen around here have cuts that leave a bit to be desired. I live in a fairly rural area and there aren't a lot of groomers to choose from -- and I don't think any have done a lot of doodles, and certainly not well! -- so I guess I need to be very specific and maybe I'll turn someone into a good doodle groomer!

Thanks for all the photos!
