Oh Boy! Sounds like fun!
My biggest concern, since your Lab is very excitable, is that he/she might really frighten the puppy. I would introduce them slowly with puppy in arms and someone else controlling the Lab. When that can be done, then try putting the pup on the floor & still control the Lab. It all may work out really well from the beginning depending on the personality of the puppy. Just a thought, but have you thought of trying this out at the breeders before purchasing the doodle? If they have a few in the litter, one might work better than another and spare you the time and effort.

My suggestion would be to take your 3 year old lab for a nice long, energy draining walk prior to picking up the pup, and if it's possible to take the older dog for a few extra walks for the first couple weeks, just so the puppy has time to get used to their new home without having to be on gaurd.
