We used to only give Juneau treats made with his kibble because it seemed like anything different would cause days worth of an upset stomaches and the runs.
I would add warm water to his kibbles, just enough to make them soft and then squish them into ice-cube trays or some other type of mold and freeze it. As time went on, I was able to start using small bits of cheese (usually a little bit of grated) or small bits of meat and adding it to the mixture before freezing or allowing it to set. We really think this is what helped build up Juneau's insides because now we just add kibble to some of his training treats to cut the richness, not because he can't handle the treats.

How about Pumpkin Oatmeal cookies?
I need the recipe for the pumpkin/oatmeal dog cookie please! I make these, liver brownies and other simple treats.....baby carrots, pcs of mozza cheese. Lots of variety with real food, helps make sure that your doggies are covered with everything they need. A lot of vitamins are destroyed in the possessing of kibble... |
