Lightbulb Calming down.

At what age does a male labradoodle start to calm down?

usually when they re tired..from 6 mos. till just over 1yr. he spent a couple hrs at the dog park everyday..

but, also temperment has alot to do with how active they can be..Toby just does nt have much of a prey instinct..though in the dog park he ll play..at home he just pretty much lay s around..

with low prey instincts..they pretty much stay puppies all the time..

Yeah, mine is the same way as Toby. He plays hard an runs hard at the dog park, we go about 2x a week. And at home he sleeps a lot and just hangs out. He plays and runs around the couch a couple times a day. But he isn't real hyper to begin with...(he is 6.5 months) ...

He really enjoys training time more than play time. Maybe of you keep him busy with learning things your pup will calm down b/c he is busy thinking ?

Good luck with your baby! I'm sure it just takes time

I ask because Leo is crazy. Running around like a mad man. He did however just get neutered and his trainer says it takes 30 days to see a difference due to that. So, I was curious. I think we should visit the dog park soon. I think he would love it. He is really showing his personality now.

Brenna is pretty laid back except when she decides Kali dog should play, they play for about 30 minutes 2 to 3 times a day. She is 5 months old and getting bigger every day.

NEVER!
I think they are forever puppies!

Seriously now, they do calm down as they are trained and yes, it takes awhile for the neutering to take effect.
What I really do love about doodles is their ability to be calm and lay on the floor like a slug and then, if a buddy of Bogart's comes to play, he can turn on the switch to become a crazed doodle.
Sometimes, Bogart will lie on the hardwood floor and you can literally slide him around like a chair or something. It is sooooo funny!
