Default Dry spots on "elbows"?

Hello... My puppy has a few dry spots, like little sores on his "elbows" and "knees" ... anyone knows what this might be?

Do you have hardwood floors? My dogs had this from my floors.
But, if you have carpet....like a rough Berber......it could be that too.
It's usually from them laying down on a surface that is slightly abrasive.

Juneau has old man elbows too. We have hardwood throughout our house and even though we have bought 3 comfy beds for him in the 'main' areas of our house he refuses to use them right now because the hardwood is much cooler!

The dry spot on his back leg was getting a little worse (scabbing) so every night and morning we would put a little polysporin on it. This seemed to help quite a bit.

Does he lay on the sidewalk or do you have a cement patio he lays on?

AHA! We have a brick stone patio and cement driveway!
That might be the cause too. That can be very abrasive if he lies on that too!

Bogart usually lies on the grass or he has his spot on the couch..... that we cover up with a mini quilt.
Of all my dogs, Bogart is the only one who doesn't have these dry spots.
The other 2 laid on the hardwood floor, cement or the wooden deck before we got the brick paver.

Actually I took him to the vet that diagnosed the rough spots on his elbows as a bacterial infection. He is now on a special shampoo and antibiotics but he is much better already!
