I don't recall when we first had Bogart's puppy cut. I know he was a big furball, and we thought it time to even him out.
I think he was around 6 months. But, we got him in November and he needed is hair for the winter.
Why not find a groomer and ask their opinion. They're usually honest and won't just do it to do it......Besides, it can't hurt to have him cut if you think he needs it. And, introducing him to the groomer and getting to know the environment won't hurt either whether they cut him or not the first time.

Jasper had his first trimming at 14 weeks...all we had done was some shaping and trimming around his face and rear end...and his first bath at a groomers. We just wanted him to get used to the groomer environment.

Then, at 6 months, we went ahead and had a full grooming. His hair was so long and he was hot and getting tangles. He did really well....and he really needed the hair pulled out of his ears...I think we waited too long to do the hair out of the ears b/c he had an ear infection and there was so much hair in there!!!

Hope that helps!
