Did your labradoodle grow much after 7 months old? If so, how much weight/height did they gain?
Our labradoodle is now 7 months old and is about 29 lbs. Her growth has slowed over the past few weeks and we are not sure if she has finished her growing. It's hard to tell how big she will end up as her mom was a big F1 labradoodle (80 lbs) and her dad was a miniature poodle (18 lbs). What was your experience? Thanks! |

Mine stopped growing at 11 months, in weight and height. She is 46 pounds and going to be 2 on September 15th. She has not gained or lost one pound since then. She stands as tall as a regular lab, but has the poodle'ness to her, thinner. Her fur makes her look bigger than she is, but when she's wet, man she is like a drowned lil rat hahaa. No one ever believes me when I say she's 46 pounds.
Here she is, staring at my yesterday morning telling me I'm not allowed to go to work and she's not coming inside haha.

My Labradoodle Daisy leveled off in growth at about 9 months of age. She was app. 35-36 lbs and has stayed about the same, she might be a few lbs heavier now, she hasn't been weighed in awhile. Our vet told us she was about full grown at that point but could continue to fill out a bit until the age of 2. Daisy is now 20 months and has really stayed the same weight. We had to let a little out on her walking harness one time a little while back but really she's stayed the same. We were told she'd be a medium sized between 35 and 45 lbs and we are finding that to be true. The vet thought she'd be much bigger based on her legs and paws when we took her for her first visit when she was 14 weeks old but she's not, she just has the long skinny Doodle legs which I LOVE!

Hmmm......I may be wrong, but I thought most dogs aren't fully grown until they're over a year. I'm quite sure it takes over a year until their "chest drops".....meaning, they're chest size becomes more pronounced and gives the, male and female, that shape from the side where you see the chest, ribcage etc much lower than the belly area.
In some breeds, a dog is not fully developed until the age of 3.

I can tell you guys that it seems Labs have a longer puppy phase. I had a pure Lab prior to Cody(my doodle) and it was like a 2 year puppy phase. I took my Lab off of puppy food at 8 months because his growth was hurting his legs and there is a great deal of protein in puppy food, and I put him on adult food. Cody is now about 13 mos. and at last weighing was 46 lbs, I would say at this time he is 50-52. I am not sure he will have any more height, but he looks very similar in size to Brigadigit's dog, maybe a little fuller but he is male.

My F1b labradoodle Riley is now 1 year old, but she has not grown since, I'd probably say, 7 months. She looks big because of her poodle fur, but when she's wet, I'd say the same drowned rat comments. I have seen her become more lean over the past few months, but she has not gained any weight; she is exactly 50 lbs.
Your doodle might grow just a little, but don't bet on it! |

![]() This is Ace - probably at about 5 months and 20 lbs. He is now 9 months and 25 lbs. I think he just had a good growth spurt between 8 and 9 months actually. The breeder calls her doodles mini to medium size and Ace reminds me a lot of his mom Amelia who topped out at 35 lbs. Not sure if he has another 10 in him, but I'm pretty sure he is still gaining weight and wow - did he get long recently. Standing on his hind legs and examining his options on the counter is his new daily pasttime! I need to thank alot of the frequent posters on this board too. I had been a "lurker" all during his puppyhood, getting such great advice and information - I was just too busy getting over the initial puppy hump to ever post anything. But I checked this site out frequently. So thank you one and all! |
