Default Orijen Large Breed Puppy food

Hello there... I'm going to be feeding Loopy Orijen large breed puppy food and I'm confused about how much I should feed him. He is 11 weeks today and weighs 13.9lbs.

Thanks for your help!!!

There are BUT it says I should feed him over 2 cups a day. The lady at the pet store said if you give him too much he will have diarrhea and that I should only feed him about 1/2 a cup a day.
I'm just wondering how much the ones that feed Orijen give to their puppies.

I know all foods are different but 1 cup of food a day doesn't seem like enough food for a growing puppy!? Especially for a standard sized doodle...

Just my opinion...

pups are growing at their fastest rate..follow the guidelines and spit it into
4 feedings a day..by time they are 6 mos. old you could begin to feed an adult food twice a day..

Perhaps what the people at the pet store meant was not to exceed 1/2 cup of the new food mixed in with the old food for the first few days?? You always want to have a slow transition from one food to another otherwise it will cause upset stomaches and diarrhea.

But you do need to make sure that your puppy is going to be getting adequet nutrients otherwise they will be underweight and not develop correctly. Based on your pups weight and age then he should be getting at least two cups of food per day. And as pups, you should not be feeding them their entire daily value in one sitting, instead, you should be splitting them up into smaller feedings throughout the say. This way, 2 cups really doesn't seem that much.

By 12 weeks old I was feeding mine one cup in the morning and one cup in the evening that way you are home and ready for them to poop...since they poop within 30 minutes of eating...usually...

Better to ask than to go on not knowing and not learning anything

to prevent any gastric problems ..spread large quantities of food over several feedings..doing so also helps in the digestion of the food and not cause any gas..

though not wide spread..poodles are a breed that is more prone to bloat than others..not to put a scare in you..a dog experiencing and not caught quickly can die in a hr..
