When I got my boy he was black with a white belly and gray face. He's 6 months now, and he seems to be getting some more silver on him as his hair is getting longer and fluffier. His front legs look like he has on silver furry boots. I think he's beautiful and I love his color, but is he going to lose all of the black on him? |

i was told that Toby would be a peach..yet when we got him he was nearly all white cept the tip of the ears..depending on each breed, like car colors..each has their own name for the same color..
over time his coat has changed..looking more like a light colored golden lab,..but, i tell people its peach yes, their coats do change..either lightening up or getting a bit darker as in Toby..and their coats coloring can stay or change continually back and forth..Toby s coat will lighten or darken a few time s yr..and it may not be even all over.. Toby s coat is more peachy on top and lighten s as it gets towards the tummy..but his head is lighter and get darker under the chin.. |

Sadie has a dog-park friend who is a shepadoodle and is completely silver-gray. Her owner told me that she was black as a puppy and she's gotten lighter over the last year--BUT now she has dark hairs coming in again!
We also sometimes see an 8-month-old labradoodle who is solid black all over except for silvery boots, mustache/beard, eyebrows, and right under his tail! Do you take pictures of your pup every week? It will be interesting to be able to look at them side by side in a year. I feel like Sadie's coat changes--both color and texture--every week! |

I do take pictures quite a bit because he's always doing something so funny I just have to capture it. It is so fun to see him changing every day. I never knew this would happen when I first got him so it's quite a surprise. I found four teeth last week. I still haven't gotten him neutered yet. He's almost six months. Would this be the right time?

Becka, the labradoodle you see is a 'phantom doodle' just like Ruff. The silver under the tail is a dead giveaway for a phantom. Ruff is a phantom too.
He is black with silver under the chin, across his chest under his tail and silver/peach boots. Yes, 6 months is a great time to get a pup neutered, before he starts marking inside.... A phantom doodle looks like this.... [IMG] [/IMG]

Everyone but deepnite and myself are talking pups.
Toby and Bogart are close to the same age at 4. Bogart was totally SOLID black head to toe. He had a few of those albino like white hairs when young and they all went away. Now.....he is like tie-dyed! His papa's silver/beige has come out all over his legs......his body is black with a hint of chocolate in the sun only.....his muzzle is brownish-red.........black tail and now.....it is so ADORABLE! His croppy top and eyebrows are slightly silvering and leaving raccoon looking eyes......like someone punched him! I LOVE IT!

Hi, I couldn't help but respond to this chain. We just got Zoe a week and a half ago and she is pure black with a white bib and white feet (the two in back). The breeder did tell us she will silver and looking at the roots of her fur she already has some silver. however her head and face has black roots. Excited to see what she will look like but hoping her fur will stay just as soft.
