We have had a very interesting few days. On Monday our world rocked itself to pieces again. We had a 5.7 earthquake at 1pm and the schools shut. Also the libraries. Daughter (21) was working at our library this week...she used to work in central, but it is behind the cordon....so they evacuated the library as well and she was home 10 mins later. Other daughter (19) was at our house and a neighbour brought his son and mine home from school. Hubby was working from home.
That meant we were all home when the 6.3 (yes, another 6.3) struck. It wasn't too bad in the city because everything has fallen down already. Not much broke in our house....I have very little left to break now, just the usual, books all over, a bit of broken crockery, a few more plaster cracks etc etc. Of course no power water sewage again. Do you know we had sewage for 48 hours before this quake and it is all gone again! Anyway in the middle of all this, no bridges, all down, police say stay off roads etc etc we are supposed to be collecting Ruff! But we went and got him this morning. Son (14) came with me as his school is not back until tomorrow. He has been great, he is asleep in his crate right now. he has done 2 pees both outside and has not pooped yet. It is wonderful to have him home. As soon as he wakes again I am going to get some pictures of him and I shall post them. Shall I keep a bit of an early days diary on here? Would anybody be interested? If i vanish without trace, it will be because the power has gone again, its a bit erratic at the moment. Katie (in Christchurch NZ) |

Take care and my thoughts are with you and your family, along with everyone over in Christchurch - stay safe! |
