not just any doodle can become a therapy dog..your best bet would be to
adopt a doodle from a trusted breeder who ll breed dogs for temperment.. some dogs are natural s..and some must be worked with closely in a varity health care facilities and situations..then there s passing a obedient and temperment test to be certified.. if your intent on getting a therapy dog candidate..it ll take some research to find the right dog to meet your particular needs.. doodle s are not cheap..and neither is the training required to be certified.. |

I 2nd what deepnite has said. For one thing, an older doodle who is capable of being a therapy dog will be hard to find........not saying it's impossible.......but please don't put your dreams in it.
Bogart is now 3 and we started his training from the day we got him.....9 weeks. First, they have to pass their CGC (Canine Good Citizen). Then you move on with a trainer to the next steps for state and national certification. Bogart is leaving with hubby shortly for our local hospital to do therapy work. Passing this test was horrendous! Doodles make great therapy dogs! If you have the time and expenses, I'd suggest purchasing a puppy from a great breeder and going from there.
