Default looks like we cracked it ! Spike is using the jingle bells :)

we got spike when he was 11 wks old, he is now 14 weeks and more or less house trained. He uses the jingle bells on the back door to let us know he needs to go out and if we don't hear him he gives one bark . He is sleeping through from 10:30 until 6 or 7 am with no wake ups and a dry clean crate in the morning !

Thanks for all your advice and support, things are getting easier and we just love Spike, the children are getting used to him and he is learning not to bite or jump as much, he starts puppy school tomorrow night and just had his shots boosted yesterday. Walking on the leash is still a work in progress but he walked nicely around the block this morning with my husband so i think he will get it soon.

I really should bath him tonight but he is sound asleep after a long day of playing and running.....i should leave sleeping dogs lie right ?

edited to add.....i should have put this in the 'stories' thread, sorry !

That's GREAT! We started to do this, but weren't consistent enough. Bogart just goes to the back door and stands there. Or, he'll come up to us in the living room and give us that desperate eye look.

thanks all we are amazed at how quickly he took to the bells.

Spike also gives us 'the look', it's so funny

Next hurdle is the first grooming/clipping ..... i don't want to lose his cute shaggy wool but he will need trimming soon !!!!

persistence is key! that is amazing! It's my opinion that potty training is the most difficult, and sounds like everything is muuuuch better!
