Default Perception of Labradoodles' personality

I am curious! Milo is a very calm, peaceful puppy, gets excited when playing etc, but by and large fairly mellow. However, everyone I mention this too, says, "Oh, that won't last. Labradoodles are spazzes and once he has finished putting all his energy into growing, he will also become a hyper dog. There is no such thing as a mellow labradoodle."
Is there any truth to the claim that puppies are mellower than their adult selves? Seems counter intuitive to me, I thought dogs mellow as they age. Is puppy temperament not a good predictor of adult personality? And last, what's with everyone saying Labradoodles are not mellow dogs. All the doodle owners I have met say their dog is easy going and super friendly.
Would love to hear your opinions on this!

some puppies may be mellower than others but all PUPPIES can have their ENERGETIC moments of playfulness and michief too hahhaaaaaaaaaaaaa

MAX was the most easy going puppy ever.......he did get bit HYPER at 7mos old when we brought Peanut home (she was 9wks old) ......but MAX settled down again after 2mos

Max is now 4yrs and Peanut 3.5yrs old......both are mellow MOST of the time and they are calmer as adults.

I will say just recently though i met someone else with a mini doodle and OMG my doodles made liars out of me: they got soooooooo supercharged with energy i almost stared in disbelief hahhaaaaaaaaaaaaa OH well......as they say Poop happens and life goes on : )

I can see where annmarie is coming from.........but spazzes?

Bogart can be all puppy at almost 3........or he can be like a flat pancake on the floor like an oooold yeller lab.
For the most part, he is really calm and relaxed. Sudden bursts of energy and excitement are simply cool!...We crack up at him!

I guess, in general, I totally disagree with what you were told.

Annmarie would be talking about my mini Labradoodle!
Kira is 2 years old and I have had her since she was 4 months old and everyone says how calm she is.
Annmarie didn't really get to see that side of her, she was a little scared being around new dogs 3 times her size! I think they all did good for a first time meeting!

Back to the point. When it's time to play she plays and she can run really fast but the rest of the time she is very calm and laid back. I think they just have different personalities like people.

Annmarie you had to bring up the poop! I really thought you would be wrong but you were right. I still have to apologize again for the little present Kira left on your carpet she really never does that.

Here we call it the DOODLE 500!
These doodles can really goooooooo!
I had to laugh. On the 4th of July, we were at a farm and the people, my future in-laws, have a black lab.
The black lab was running like crazy and waaay ahead of Bogart. My son said to me, "So much for doodles running fast!"........then he had to say, "OOOPS! Guess I was wrong!" ........as Bogart suddenly kicked in to the doodle 500 and ran past the lab in a jiffy!

Doodle 500! Good one!
It is funny to watch her run, and even funnier to watch the other dogs at the dog park give up and look at her like what the heck?!

Well, I am fed up with people saying, oh your puppy is mellow now, but when he is an adult, he will be hyper. Yesterday at the park, one person harangued me on the fact that the breeder neutered him before he came to us. Oh, he is going to be so mellow, other dogs will attack him and he will be defenceless. Gee, thanks! And we thought there was no down side to having a happy friendly pup :P

With McGee it seems to depend on one of two situations, if it's routine and something he's used too he's pretty calm, but get him in a new situation (new people, new animals) and he's pretty excitable. Make that very excitable, he's just so happy to meet somebody or have somebody he might be able to play with he can be a handful.

Maz is 4yrs old and still mellow easy going
but a few people he LOVES well when they visit he gets a bit hyper
but then calms down

oh the part on being defenseless? SHEER nonsense....remember they say watch out for the quiet ones hahhahaa MAX can hold his own the few times a dog has challenged him though I must say MAX did his best to stay mellow but if pushed too hard just his growl made other dogs back down

STOP worrying about the NONSENSE PEOPLE who try to give you these silly comments, perhaps deep down they're just jealous of your labradoodle.
OH and in OB Training i had same thing......MAX rose to top of class and then everyone changed their opinions and liked him
