Default pee burning grass

Has anyone given their dog something in their diet to change their nitrogen output in their pee so it does not burn the grass?

We've just started (as in just today) giving Roxy "Green-Um" tablets to try and stop her pee burning the grass. Supposed to bind to the ammonia. Will let you know if it works.

Sorry, was away! Anyway, not quite a month yet but we think it's working. Lawn is looking better but whether that's wishful thinking or not I'm not sure!

Grren-Um works great. Been using it for over a year for our female. They have two or three strengths depending on the weight of your Doodle

Our VET said treat the grass not the dog.

I think I am going with that advice.

I think that's good advice. But, how do you treat the lawn w/o putting something harmful on it to the dog?

It's a dilemma.......so.......we have 2 beautiful perennial gardens where we have added tons of potted plants and hanging plants.....the yard looks great......but the lawn!?? YUCK! We do nothing to the lawn out back. The front yard is pretty much dog free except for the walkers pee.

The Dog Rocks look harmless......and sound like a good idea!

Well, you can think my hubby and I are totally crazy, but in total honesty, we keep the hose out all the time and we literally water the grass a bit witht the hose everytime Daisy pees. We just spray the spot where she peed a bit right away after she pees and we never have burn spots. Yes, it's kind of annoying to have to water everytime, but I like to go out with her anyway so I've gotten used to doing it. Of course this doesn't work when it's winter out so in the early spring after the big winter thaw our yard is a wreck and we have some work to do, sometime some reseeding and sodding, but during the spring, summer and fall, as long as we we spray with the hose our yard is in great condition! Definitely recommend it. Our next door neighbor totally rips on us and says no way, he won't do that everytime, but you should see his yard, it's trashed and totally burned everywhere, so it's worth it to us.
