Just wondering how long we should walk him? Sometimes he will lay down on the grass for a minute, then take off full speed again.

I sure wish I could bottle some of that energy!

Not to far
over stress of bones and joints until 2yrs old can cause some major issues

I agree with Nancy!
I went through the same thing with Bogart. It seemed like the longest time! I helped get rid of some of his energy in the yard and on the soft grass or snow where the pavement isn't involved.
Play games, throw balls and play fetch!

another good thing to do is swimming,, NO stress on bone and joints,
i would recommend waiting until much older though, dont want him to drown )
a 14wks old pup should not i repeat NOT do too much to soon
training classes should be the main concern at this age

Yeah, you are right. Aside from excitement you feel, it also makes you feel better because going to the beach is relaxing and giving you a great kind of exercise. You can also walk to the sea shore and it was good to refresh your mind. Your pet also loves walking here I believe.
