Default Re: Paw size being a true indicator of size?

hi again........i am going to try SEARCH on an old post that gives a SIZE CHART that pretty much hit's the spot on growth :weight and height
if not find the site that has it........if i forget just PM me next week. THIS WEEK is a tad crazy for me hahhaaaaaaaaa

With doodles it's fairly hard to use paw size as an indicator as it depends on where their genes lie with the retreiver side or
poodle side.

the General Rule of thumb is to take their weight at 14wks OLD and double it, then add on approx 10lbs and
by 10mos their height is pretty much done though they a few have been known to put on another 1/2in , rarely more .

Also in our doodles the paws on Peanut looks like a POLAR bear but she's only 22.5in tall and 65lbs, thus her nickname TANK-a-doodle
BUT she has the build of her golden retreiver mother, even wet she's the same size when dry and has a double coat yet it's fleece.
TO THINK she was the runt and tiniest doodle in her litter PEANUT is not the size of a peanut that's for sure

What you'll find is they after a year old may put on another 10lbs filling out then around 2yrs old may slim down
and then around 3yrs old fill out again which EXERCISE /diet etc is more closely watched.
