I got an email from the Breeder'sClub.Net with a link about a provocative article regarding PETA. What do you think about it? http://www.breedersclub.net/newsletter/Peta.pdf

Better question is what do you think of it?
I have always felt that PETA is extremist in nature, and that they don't think through the implicationsofexactly what would happen if we agreed to abide by their philosophy.

I've seen similar information said about PETA in various places.
I think they're extremists and I seriously do not trust the intentions or policies of many shelters because of it. Peta would love to eliminate pet ownership. What better way to accomplish this than to euthanise large numbers of dogs and de-sex all the rest? I know of someone a couple hrs from me who claims to do rescue and often "volunteers" to take in and re-home dogs for those who need to re-home them. After watching her for a length of time I see a pattern... she only offers to take dogs that have resale value. She claims to be doing this for the animals... so why's she not interested in the 10 yr old mutts? So even her motives are not innocent. I don't mean to get off topic here, but my point is many who claim to have noble purposes are simply in it to make money OR have their own hidden agenda. We need to research for ourselves who is legit and who is not. I personally don't doubt any of what was in the original post.

PETA is too extreme for me to support them

PETA would rather have dogs and cats (and all animals) wandering wild and even become extinct than to see them in "captivity" which includes pet ownership.
They do not care that people love and take care of their pets...they believe that no creature should be "kept" in an artificial environment... PETA is behind the push to have mandatory spay and neuter laws and they want to completely eliminate commercial breeding of animals. I didn't read the article you link to...sorry...but PETA people are way too over the top for me to give any consideration to their positions. |
