Default It's happening!!

Well, some of our puppies left to go to their permanent homes this week and it was especially hard for me. Even though I know they are in good homes, feeding time is sad for me these days-I don’t have as many puppies eating!

It’s a remarkable feeling though-when the owners tell me how good of a job I did because they are perfect and healthy. It’s worth all the work!

Mhyles ,
We remember the day the first of 11 puppies left our home, tears welled up in our eyes, I thought the day they left would be more joyous for us especially, but it wasnt.. It was like giving away our children one at a time...And the same tears welled up each time the new owners would drive off..sigh
So we can relate to this post.
it is a happy thing to hear when the new owners tell you that you did a wonderful JOB! So keep it up..that is what makes Breeding these wonderful family pets so worthwhile...

Mhyles & M&Tdoodles

I hope you both realize that this is what makes you and the other breeders on this forum STANDOUTS and you should be very proud.
As a future customer and current owner, I have always wondered how breeders do it. How do they let the puppies go. This forum gives us some sneak peaks at the really good breeders, and being able to read your written thoughts on how you really do feel about this experience is wonderful. Please understand that when I say to you that I am glad that you cry and I am glad that it is very difficult for you to let go and if either of you breeders lived in my area I would be knocking on your door to get a puppy because I see your passion, in your written words. No where on this forum is there ever talk about the money. It is always about the puppies. So Kudos to all of you
Whew

Default Letting go...

Thank you for your kind words.

It feels good to know that the new owners are very happy and thankful-I really didn't know that I was going to be this sad. I cannot imagine how I can handle it when they are all gone!!

I can't think how other breeders can just do it for the money. I mean, you were there when they were born, until they are able to look you in the eyes and asked for your affection.

I truly believe that puppies are miracles with paws!!!

Thank you blueteal , it is an adventure, and an added blessing when you can see the litter again to baby sit. A previous puppy's(larry) mom & dad went to Florida last week, and they were so so happy when we said we could watch him for the week. Having Larry-Otis back was a thrill for each one of us.
To see him play with his mom & dad again was a thrill to watch. Not one time did they ever fight or growl at each other. Thank God with 3 small puppies around we could leave them all together with our supervision and no-one got hurt in the play action.
It was so GREAT to get a thank you email saying what a nice time THEY HAD knowing their dog was so well cared for but it was us who was truly thankful to have our pup back again. Its amazing to see how well your pups turn out as adults, to touch their coat and see their temperament is a testament that we are breeding 2 dogs that have quality offspring.
THANKS AGAIN

What a touching sneak preview, as I await my first litter. You make a prophet of a friend of mine who asked me if I would find the courage to let them go. I just hope I can hold it together until the adoptive families get out the door!

Kudos and thanks to both of you for sharing your feelings on this! It adds a sweet sadness to stroking Deva's protruding belly.

Still trying not to bond......
