Default labradoodle and cock-a-poo

Hi all: Has any one heard of breeders crossing labradoodles with cock-a-poos? I heard this is something new.

Well, Australian Multigens have some Cocker Spaniel in them...so I guess it isn't all that new...but I think that the American Labradoodles are purely Lab and Poodle mixes.

it is my understanding that breeders of american labradoodles are not infusing any other breeds.

weeelllll.....we'll see, in the future if US breeders follow RM and TP with how they have bred other breeds in, but I don't know that I would go that far, Mickey. There are US breeders who are actually considering adding well-tested Cocker bloodlines. But you and Jac are correct, that there is a Cocker Spaniel component to the Doodles that came from Australian bloodlines.

Some breeders have distinguished themselves by saying they breed strictly "North American Labradoodles" = Dogs that were bred only from Labs and POodles. But now, with a few breeders breeding puppies that come from a Goldendoodle x Labradoodle and calling them North American Retrievers....it sort of confuses things with the hybrid puppies that are just the Lab x Poodle.

Clear as mud?

yes maureen totally

and I remember reading what Krista wrote on the breeder board a bit ago, but I still think at least the stance of the alaa (is that still politically correct?) is poodle lab currently? yes?

of course I am ignorant and biased but my personal feelings I try to keep to myself!
