I know...they had such a great potential! I think that they just got in over their heads...not many employees and so many customers...then the bottom dropped out of their business with the lawsuit and with the testing center declining their tests...I understand their struggle...hope they are able to pull it together again.
I have two tests to send in...I have been waiting to see what happens. Guess I should just send them in!

They have nice tests for a good price, but I am waiting to hear some good results regarding their turn around time before I send them any money, and I have a girl ready to test. I dont want to waste my money if they are really not in buisness anymore.

their 'Turn-around-time" sucks!!!!!
I have emailed the Co. many times, and still no answer...No Courtesy so at this point I am beyond frustrated...
Any body "Breeder" who has sent in their DNA swabs say around NOVEMBER ? Wondering if you were able to be lucky and get your results...and if so could you let me know when you did get them?
Martha
Sorry if this post seems abrupt but I am so angry with this Co.

You are not alone, Martha. I have not sent any in, but I have read on other forums that breeders are livid...no contact, no responses to emails or phone calls...and no results. Very sad...this company had a good start.

Jac,
If I were you I would email them and ask for a refund immediately, and send them back their KITS>>>( not that you would get any answer) but really do you really want to go through the trouble of swabbing and mail and see no results...I am beginning to think I am wasting my time...Im ready to call it a loss and go on to another Co.but the big question is which one to use...????
Any one with good experience from any other Co.?
I have emailed Sherrill and Rick twice in 3 weeks & still no answer...
Here are the 2 email addresses I have used....
Rick@ingen.bs
Sherrill@ingen.bs

I think the bs at the end of these emails stand for ...well ya know...
I dont understand why they cant find the time to write me...anything would be better than nothing...In fact the last time I emailed them , that afternoon I received an email back from the Co. but no answer was included, just an advertisement for a discount on purchasing more kits..They were having a super sale...hmmmm wonder if they need cash....now in a hurry...so they can go back and relax at the beach and buy more Rum drinks....I think becuase of us talking them up so much so many doodle breeders have been using them..has any one noticed the photo on their web site..looks like a doodle doesnt it...
Im finished ranting now....will let ya know if I hear anything back....
Martha

On the breeder's forum the one that needed to reach them actually got a call from them! So...all is well with them.

I have never had a problem with them...and I have always gotten responses from Rick...so I think that I'll send in my last two swabs. I'll let you all know what happens. I won't be able to collect them for a while though. Need to catch up with the guardains!

I hope that you have some luck getting in touch with them.

I'll be interested in what they tell you Nancy...

Latest update...... on mixed PRA results... YIKES!!!
Quote:
For those of you that missed the first post, one of the females from Gemstone's was stated to be affected with PRA according to Ingen.
I had my parents tested by Optigen when it first became available and they were both clear.
We sent the Optigen reports to Ingen and they said they stood by their test and they would not do anything until we did a parentage test.
In the meantime, the female was tested by Optigen and pronounced clear.
Well, the parentage test is in and it proved that Amber and Hugo are the parents.
Where does this leave all of us that have tested our dogs for PRA thru Ingen and started breeding according to the reports we received? I don't know. I think I will retest my dogs by Optigen. I have 3 that I kept based on being cleared by Ingen from a carrier parent.
We are in the process of finding out if Ingen will tell us if they a)mixed up the dogs or b)the test was contaminated. If either of these is true it's bad enough. If neither is true then their test is faulty. A scary thought.

Nancy, did they refund your money?

I really am not happy with this...but I think that we need more than slow results and one mistake to condemn all of the testing we have had done...are there any other verifiable errors that you know of?

That really is a shame...I expect that they will probably file bankruptcy soon...they used to at least try to appease their customers...I think that they had a good idea and it just got railroaded by the companies charging more (too much) and they lost it...that is when the univeristy pulled out and they were left holding the bag...so they left their customers hanging out to dry...very sad.

I still don't understand how my "Blue" Marley AND your "Blue" dogs, showed as not carrying the dilute gene.... Blue is a dilute color. That has always bothered me and made me wonder about the other results....that's just me though.
