They are both gorgeous girls! I'd say Abby has a wave and that Nellie's coat is curly but not wool...it is a curly fleece. Very pretty!

I am sorry that you had to get Abby spayed...I know how much that must have hurt you...

Ha! Nellie and pencils....stinker girl!

Cute pics, thanks for posting them.

Nellie is an F1B. Mom is a blue black standard poodle and Dad is an F1 labradoodle.
I really think an F1 wavy male will be what I need when she is old enough to breed....assuming she will pass her testing with
flying colors.
Bonny her mama, Cosmo her Dad, and Izzy Nellie's sister, littermate and future breeder.

Thanks, Jac! I love my girls and could post brag-book style all day!!

I have too much going on in my life right now and the temptation this morning
is to take the dogs to the country and play. they bring me much needed joy and
a happy diversion to the stresses around here lately.

Amen to this!!!
My dogs ARE my diversion to the stresses around me....others around me look at them as work.
Poor them!

Beautiful dogs, all of them, Jane. You will have nice litters! With Nellie's curl, an F1 might work well...worth a try and if you don't like what you produce, you can always change...

Dogs relieve stress? Hmmmm....I am doing something wrong...my dogs CREATE the stress! Ha! (Only because right now my Louie is being neutered...it is his first time away from me and he was so afraid...he is my dog that was one of the sick puppies...3 died, Louie survived, but well, his elevator doesn't go to the top floor...but I love him more than any other...he is the most gentle, sweet soul...so until I get him home....STRESS!!!)

Oh, precious Louie!! I pray he is able to pull through beautifully!
Abby's lazer surgery for the spay went absolutely perfectly!
The doctor glued her shut and she didn't need the elizabethan collar~cause she never
licked it, or bothered it at all!! She was slowed down for a couple days is all and
then she seemed good as new.....
and YES, it STRESSED me out completely while she recovered,
the other dogs kept wanting to get her rip-roaring again too soon!!

I still have my eye on Nitos, Jac. We'll see though, I just am not counting chickens before they hatch
this time. I'll have Nellie tested and then we'll see. Guess I'll do PawsitiveID again first.
It is hard not to get excited again......

The stresses around here concerning my son's seizures....his meds, my other son is having a baby....
(not yet married....she is so sick with morning sickness,)and I just got a call that she needs to go to
the emergency room.... my other daughter-in-law is recovering from nerve surgery,
My middle son is trying to get off probation and has a court date Friday. He is about to wear me out.
Sooooo, as long as I don't have a sick dog, or as long as the dogs stay out of jail, or out of the mud, or the vet, or the neighbors garden.....they are a source of relaxing joy to me today.
But, I guess I am on my way to the hospital, not the country.

Have a good one !

Wow Jane.....yup! you have a plateful there! Totally understand the stress!
For me, there is nothing like an hour long walk with the dogs to clear my head & think about things...... dogs like it too.
Just my way of coping.....

Walking is a huge help to my ability to handle the stresses....
Believe it or not, even poop scooping can be therapeutic !!
Will have to do that tonight after all the turmoil dies down.
whew!

Hi...as for coats...I was surprised...and not pleasantly so.

We had at least 3 very Labby pups...and three were full, fleece...the others were in between.

Not what I had anticipated in this litter. I was surprised too because Bayley's coat is really nice for an F1 and Sherwood's coat is VERY thick, non-shedding, curly fleece.

I don't plan to repeat that breeding. It seemed that the Lab traits came out more in this mating than when I bred my F1 to a Poodle for F1B puppies. Makes sense that this would happen, of course, bringing more Lab back in...but I thought that the coats were set quite well in the parents. Didn't turn out that way.

I have only seen 4 as adults and three are all gorgeous fleece, but not as thick as Sherwood's and one is wooly...I have lost touch with the others, sadly. I keep writing but get no answers...mostly when I do hear from them they love their dog but don't tell me much about their coats...

JAC........sometimes though isn't there a inconsistency in coats where 3 litters are awesome and then 1 litter you go
what the??? as i have seen this with some breeders here.

Oh, yes! You can't rely on anything! My first two litters with Bayley and Lexie were so much alike, they were nearly identical in coats and tempreaments and they were so cute...all had nice coats but one in each litter...next two litters the same thing...third litter? What happened??? hahaha But they were sweet...and adorable...just only one or two great coats...the rest were all wool!

No, it isn't bad...most people love it...but I have been spoiled with the most perfect fleece on some of my pups...I mean the ideal coat...so when I see curl on the little puppies I get a little disappointed. It's just my preference...not anyone elses.

JANE YOU can really DESTRESS in my yard as it's 6 acres (lots of walking) and on the NORTH side of the house is tons of poop
you can scoop up for me.

SEE what a GREAT FRIEND I am trying to help you out!
