Hi,
Oddly enough, and surprising to me, the Labby looking pups are not shedding! Their coats are very silky and not at all coarse. Only time will tell, but my other litters with Labby pups had coarse, shedding coats by now...so as it stands right now...no shedders.

Boy, that's great to have no shedders so far!
Silky and no shedding is perfect!

Hi Jane,
I think it would be great to have a Labby looking pup if she didn't shed because so many people love that look but hate the shedding! I am keeping my fingers crossed.

i am waiting to see more pics as the pups mature.....a labby coat that doesn't shed would be awesome!!!
low maintainence, no doggy odor, no big grooming bills , dries quickly, and little to no shedding
Possibly a great doodle for allergy sufferers and also people who love labs and then the doodle lovers of course!!

way to go Jac, can't wait to hear/see more soon on these f1b x f1 pups!

Nancy,
Can you find a picture of him to post??....Seems like you have posted one before....
but maybe that was someone else. I have friends who'd love a labby doodle that didn't shed.
I'd like to show them the pics of those we know don't shed.....
Thanks,

I think that is great, Nancy!
So many people tell me that they love the Labby look and I know that if she doesn't shed she will be in demand! She is such a cutie pie...darling personality, very smart!

Hi Jac! Just wanted to check how the puppies coats are now. How many ended up as shedders? I am so curious about the F1XF1B cross as some say most of the puppies coats shed.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi Maila, this litter had pretty nice coats. We had a couple of Labby pups but I have not seen what they matured to look like...most of them did have thick coats. Some, although non-shedding, were coarse...they are all great dogs...very smart and sweet!

Just read through this thread again.
I wish I could physically show you all the coat on Nellie. It is very curly, sort of loose corkscrew type, but not
kinky.....more of a wavy corkscrew....doesn't have the downy, fluffy undercoat that Abby has.....that matts....and does it ever matt up quickly!....like the day, or two, after I brush her really well!!!
So far, 5 months old, Nellie has no shedding, easy to bathe and brush, quick drying,....no matting ( yet !)
If she tests well and can be bred....I think the right F1 would be good.....Pairing her with an F1B would be ok, if I found one that has a non shedding silky wave......I think these doodles and their coats are fascinating!
I have a friend who would love a labby doodle that didn't shed.....she isn't in the market for one right now, but will be soon......People DO love the concept of a nonshedding lab!! Sounds like all those you talked about here have been placed in forever homes. That's great!

Nope, that's Abby.
I just found my camera....it was tucked in a strange spot ever since I got home from MN.
I will take some new ones of Nellie.....and post them.
Abby was spayed about three weeks ago ! [sigh*X#@!!! ]

Here are a few newish ones....Nellie, bless her little heart, LOVES eating pencils. I am better about leaving one where she can reach it....I don't do that too often....she is a master at finding them, though!!
The first photo is closest to her coloring....the others her faces lightens some...and it is really dark like the rest of her. Her curly coat is soft and not as thick as Abby's....I can't explain the differences...but they are huge.

Abby's coat is perfect!! Too bad I can't breed her!
